ls: cannot access /usr/local/bin/mythfrontend*: No such file or directory
ls: cannot access /usr/local/bin/mythtv*: No such file or directory

Tried it without the asterisk to boot, same result.

I'm quite tempted to do the chmod as you state, but I'll wait for further
instruction just to be sure ;)
