[mythtv-users] transcoding HDPVR files

so Im thinking of transcoding my old recordings into something
a little smaller. What do people use for settings/options/etc
to transcode their hdpvr files?
I would prefer to run scripts as opposed to letting mythtv
do it. This way I can let it run only when its not recording
or commflagging something already. also I can run it in
parallel on other machines to speed things up.
