In my experience Myth correctly detects whether content is interlaced or
progressive. You can verify this by pressing menu during a recording and
going to video scan. If it says "Detect (I)" then the content is
interlaced, "Detect (P)" means progressive. You can also choose to
override MythTV's detection for a specific video.
