[mythtv-users] "audio stream changed"

For some recordings my mythfrontend console constantly repeats "audio stream 
changed".  I recently upgraded to an AMD 780g motherboard, Debian Lenny, and 
MythTV .21 via debian-multimedia.org from a Gentoo configuration on .20 
(which never exhibited this behavior).  Below I've attached the relevant 
output from a recording that causes this behavior and one that doesn't.  The 
difference appears to be stereo vs surround-sound.  This output was generated 
while using a PCI-E card with the nvidia driver, not the onboard video, 
although that doesn't appear to make any difference.

The messages themselves aren't so much a problem as the big performance hit; I 
can't timestretch anymore without getting audio buffer underruns.  Thanks in 
advance for any hints.
