OK, the NBC Nightly News didn't have commercial detection tonight.
First time I remember that program not having it so I tried looking
into what you said.

1) When I first came into the program after looking at the icons in
the program info box it said that commercial detection was in
progress. (A small 'gear' picture, implying work I suppose.) However
'top' and ps aux show no signs of mythcommflag running. The program
had finished recording 40 minutes ago so the job should have finished.

2) I went to the job options and stopped commercial detection. The
gear disappeared.

3) I then restarted commercial detection. The gear came back back up
and now mythcommflag is showing up as using 14% CPU and 13% memory/

It appears that commercial flagging is being called by mythbackend
(the gear is there) but isn't actually running. (no mythcommflag
process.)

The other thing I'm seeing, looking in dmesg on the backend server, is
that mythfilldatabase is dying:

mythfilldatabas[9592] general protection eip:81ade99 esp:b4612245 error:0
mythfilldatabas[12508]: segfault at 86819ff0 eip 081ba3a0 esp b466cc8c error 4

Running it by hand seems to work but I get a segfalt message at the
end so I don't know what's wrong. It's Gentoo based so I'll look at
doing updates I guess.

There seem to be some pretty serious problems here. Not good.
