/etc/mysql/debian-start
runs
/usr/bin/mysqlcheck --defaults-file=/etc/mysql/debian.cnf -all-databases --fast --silent

I ran optimize_mythdb.pl as you suggested, it outputted nothing and the
error looks gone now.
However I still can't play old recordings on my slave backend:

2008-09-22 09:29:07.525 PlaybackBox::showActions(): Error, myth://192.168.205.3:6543/1003_20080920232900.mpg file not found

I don't really know how to debug/log the myth to myth protocol outside of
making sure it's up with telnet, but telnet + strace on slave mythbackend
shows activity when I
telnet gargamel 6543
whereas when mythfrontend logs
2008-09-22 09:47:07.998 PlaybackBox::play(): Error, myth://192.168.205.3:6543/1063_20080919100000.mpg file not found

no traffic is received by the slave backend.

This leads me to believe that mythfrontend doesn't do the right thing, even
though it seems to have the right info.

Any idea where to go from there?

Thanks,
Marc
