I have seen this once.  A show stopped recording in the middle but the
database said it kept going.  I was told that if the signal drops out,
the file will close but mythtv will keep things going and nothing
shows up in the database.  I certainly could not confirm this as my
signal strength is 99% with no sign of signal drop out just prior to
the end of what was recorded.  It only happened once int he 3 months I
have had myth.
