[mythtv-users] Firewire strangeness

I recently upgraded to MythDora 5 and everything went pretty smoothly.
I even noticed that my connection to my cable box via firewire was
operating more reliably than before (I installed the libavc, libiec
and libraw from source).

But yesterday the connection to the cable box stopped working. I tried
re-installing from rpm and source with no luck. I can use the 6200ch
application to change the channel on the box, and even power it on and
off with 6200pwr. I can also successfully test the connection with
firewire_tester. But test-mpeg2 gives me a zero size file every time!

This situation has persisted despite installing libavc, libiec and
libraw1394 from the current rpm's, and then removing and installing
from source, upgrading the kernel and multiple reboots.

HELP!!!

You may need to manually set the channel on the receiving node.

However, FWtest7.ts cannot be played by mplayer, xine or vlc. All show
a black screen or nothing.

Has anyone seen this before and can anyone help?

Thanks,
