I assume you mean a frontend since backends don't play back content,  
they just record. :)
Are you using Bob (or some other double frame-rate) deinterlacer?  
There's a bug that was recently fixed for that.

The other likely suspect is missing channel icons on that frontend,  
but I'm not sure if that's actually a problem any more.
