[mythtv-users] some type of rebuild on a recording

You need to do a lossles MPEG2 transcode. You can either use 
mythtranscode on the file: 
http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Mythtranscode, or, you can use 
mencoder (mencoder infile.mpg -ovc copy -oac copy -of mpeg -o 
outfile.mpg) on the file.
(All assuming this is an mpeg2 recording!)
