I also wrote a highly-configurable script I've been meaning to 
release. To avoid the overhead of a system call, it actually 
re-implements what irsend does completely in Perl. It also handles 
the case of multiple channel changes at once. (I have two Dish 
receivers.)

Please note that you MUST configure the script by changing the 
settings at the beginning.
