Is this trunk or 0.21-fixes SVN?  You just said "SVN", so I don't know.  
If it's trunk, what /exactly/ do you mean by, "latest sources from SVN" 
as there was an issue that could cause a deadlock fixed in [18447] (Sep 26).

If that's not the issue, then we'll need a backtrace, as described at 
http://mythtv.org/docs/mythtv-HOWTO-22.html#ss22.2 .  Note that if 
you're using packages, many distros provide debug symbol packages, so 
you won't have to rebuild it from source.  Feel free to post the 
backtrace here or even e-mail it to me directly (with the same subject, 
so I'll find it).

/me wonders if some enterprising Ubuntu and/or Fedora (and/or any other 
distro that makes debug packages available) users would like to write up 
instructions on the wiki for installing debug symbols for packaged 
0.21-fixes versions and capturing backtraces...
