I have a 1250 in my server, and I am building one with 2 1800's right
now.

I heard analog for the 1800's in questionable, but I'm going to try
anyways and use a 250/350 for analog if all goes wrong.

Was just on the Hauppaugh site and looking around. The
WinTV-HVR-1600 supports linux and does MPEG encoding. Anyway using this
one successfully with Myth.

So then I guess I'm back to the beginning. I can't seem
to find a card. Anyone have a recommendation. Here is what I want.

digital card with hardware MPEG Encoding for a backend
server. Coax connections

Any recommendations of current options. The list of
current hardware seems like most of it (at least the ones with MPEG
Encoding) are no longer available.

		Thanks,
		Steve

I am starting the process of building a
PVR with MythTV. Anyway trying to find a digital card with MPEG
Encoding has been my sticking point. Anyway I recently found the
Hauppaugh HVR 2250
(http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_hvr2250.html) and am very
interested in it. However it isn't listed on the known hardware list
for Myth.

So my question is anyone using this card
successfully with Myth?

				I also found this

myCable, WinTV-PVR 500 is discontinued* CONFIRMED * so what do you
recommend ?

well I started the thread so I will
close it, I finally ended up buying the hauppauge 2250, linux drivers
are on their way ( it is even stated on hauppauge webpage ), basically
this will be the replacement for the PVR 500, since they are getting a
lot of heat from FCC to not sell any cards that can't decode digital, as
I said on a post before, I think this card will serve 2 purposes, first
the intended one and second I could help do a lot of beta testing ( or
even dust my old C knowledge and work a bit on the driver )

Thank you all for your responses.
				Roberto.

Holy crap, this looks like the *perfect*
card for me to be able to record my regular cable TV and future-proof
for HD-- am I correct that it would serve this purpose??

				Thanks
				Bob

				No support in linux yet..

Support is not in linux for that card
yet..

				I hear you!

Nothing to report lately. The S2API and
the Plumbers conf took a lot of

a regular linux schedule.
