Hi,
I'm a long time mythtv user and I am run mythbackend on a lightweight ubuntu server with a dual USB DVB-T tuner. For the frontends I have mostly been using Ubuntu linux laptops, or linux desktops connected to computer monitors. I recently installed mythfrontend on a macbook and the output looks good on the laptop screen.
I then tried to connect the macbook to a 1080p Samsung TV which looks great playing HD content and upscaled SD content using other applications (plexapp, OSXBMC). Last night I tried playing some recorded DVB-T content through mythfrontend and the output looked blocky and quite bad. I tried playing around with the playback and display settings, but I couldn't get it to look as good or smooth as compared to the DVB-T tuner on the Samsung TV (which also must be upscaling to 1080p).
Can anyone recommend some settings that I can use? I love mythtv's recording and scheduling features and it looks great on the laptops, but I would just like to find a way to make it look good on my TV.
Thanks for you help,
Stephen
