[mythtv-users] Seektable problem with BBC HD recordings

Hi all - my Mythbox (Mythbuntu 8.04) has developed a bit of a weird quirk;
it's consistent and reproducible, and although I can fix the problem
manually each time, I am at a loss to work out why it is happening.

Any recording from BBC HD (via DVB-S) shows that the full file is present
(judging by the physical size), but the system won't play the whole thing -
the frontend reports that the recording is only usually around 7-8 minutes
long, and if you play this through then it reaches the "finish" and stops
playing after the specified short length of time, rather than the true end
of the program. Live TV plays fine, and recordings from other channels work
properly.
I've done a fair bit of digging, and have discovered that it seems to be the
recordedseek table that is at fault, and if I run mythcommflag --rebuild for
the affected programs, then everything works fine; the database doesn't
report that the table is corrupt, though.

values... this is Strictly Come Dancing, for the wife - and my life probably
wouldn't be worth living if I was unable to make the recordings play
properly!

The only thing that I could think of that may have an influence is the
advert flagging process, but BBC HD is set to advert-free - and the problem
doesn't occur on any other channels (recordings from other BBC channels
which are also set to advert-free work fine.) I've got the system set to
record 300 seconds before and after each program (in setup>tv
settings>general) - I can't imagine that this is confusing the seektable
process, but it seems rather coincidental that the only part of the
recording it manages to show is the padding at the start...

Any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated - it must be something that I
have been able to change, as I've had BBC HD working perfectly before;
unfortunately I have no idea what the change was, or when the problem
started :(
