[mythtv-users] Would this hardware be OK for high definition?

I'd say mostly the Graphics card

You really need an nvidia 6x00 or above PCI/PCIe card to do HDTV as it
does all the processing. Otherwise the CPU has to do all the work and
you'll lose frames.

I have a system with a Pentium-D E5200, nvidia 7x00 pci-e, and a
Hauppauge Nova-T PCI card and it plays HDTV just fine, using 30% of the
CPU.

It wouldn't be too hard to test -- just install the Mythbuntu /
Knoppmyth live CD, and try to play one of the .mkv or .ts samples from
http://x264.nl/h.264.samples/
