After trying this again with OSX 10.5.5 and 0.21-fixes, I thought I'd
resurrect this thread to again ask, "does anyone have AC3 passthrough
working on the Mac Mini?"
While it would at least function, albeit with the aforementioned
accelerated playback bug, under 10.4, it fails spectacularly in
10.5.5.  Not only does attempting playback with AC3 passthrough
checked cause MythFrontend to crash, but it also kills the sound in
all other applications until I reboot my Mini.  Quite destructive...

So I'd be interested to hear of anyone getting this to work with 10.5.x-
