[mythtv-users] alsa conf question

I don't think you would want to do this in alsa even if it were
possible. From what I read, alsa does a poor job of dealing with
spdif.
That said, I have tried to do this and would like to know if it can be
done in the sound chip. Some posters have reported that it works the
way you want on their sound cards. It doesn't on mine. I have two
spdif converters to solve the problem. One is doing 5.1 and the other
2.0.
Not much help but thought I would give you some feedback on your question.
