So - Mr VCRAddict has been a member of the community for 3 1/2 days. He's
started a thread telling us about how to post (Mind your P's and Q's),
and now he makes an ad hominem attack against someone wanting to start an
innocent website giving hardware recommendations (New web page for MythTV
users mythtvrigs.com). I'm all for the long-time members and developers
telling us off now and again (people who contribute like Michael Dean,
Isaac, Janne, Chris Peterson, foo bar, etc) - but shouldn't a member have
to have been around for at least a week before they start acting like the
sheriff of mythville? Can we amend the mailing list etiquette to this
effect. His first point was someone valid (about mail formatting -
although frankly a few HTML tags is not that big a deal in 2008 - the
world has moved on folks), but simply attacking someone who's trying to
actually do something for the community is a little over the top. So - Mr
VCRMan - maybe it's time to become DVRMan and move into the 21st century
and learn some manners. John
