I got the response from seagate support on 2008-11-11 08:31 (CET); at that time SD35 was definitely out. So far I'm still waiting for an official fix from seagate, but have gotten neither fix nor a timeframe.

Posts on the seagate community forums indicate that seagate has told other users the fix would be available this week. We'll see...
