[mythtv-users] Using a second digital sound card.

Hi,

Actually, "ALSA: Default" isn't the first sound card; it's an output
from the first sound card. So you want to determine what that output is
-- /dev/dsp, /dev/sound, or some such -- it can be different things for
different cards, but usually /dev/dsp. Then look in the /dev directory
for a second one -- /dev/dsp2, /dev/sound2 or similar. Then input that
(eg., /dev/dsp2) into the "Audio output device" field.

It's possible (although unlikely) the two sound cards might use
different outputs; eg, /dev/dsp for the first card and /dev/sound for
the second card. In that case there won't be a "second one." If you
can't tell just by looking at what's in the /dev directory, then
compare the contents of /dev with and without the second sound card
plugged in.

Also, before you go too far down the road with this, make sure the
second card driver is working OK. That's usually where folks have
trouble with getting two cards to work.

Good luck.
