I have the same issue with the Hauppage Nova-HD-S2 card. The Vendor ID en
Subdevice ID are no longer recognized and the DVB module can no longer load.
This happened after an update in Ubuntu from 2.6.26-19 to 2.6.26-21.
Regardless if I load -19 or -21 kernel, the module doesn't work anymore.
It also doesn't work on a new scratch install of 8.10 ubuntu with kernel
2.6.27. I was going to think hardware faillure, because I could not find any
other cause for it. Your story however concurrs with mine.
