[mythtv-users] mythfrontend vs mplayer cpu usage

I have an Nvidia 8500GT gpu using the nvidia driver and playback of
recordings at 720x480 causes mythfront and X to consume about 55% cpu usage.
I am confused as to why mplayer only consumes about 10% cpu usage to
playback the same mpeg2 file?
