I do use the external audio and still have the cron job running to reset the 
audio and this still happens.
The only thing that gets rid of it is to reboot. The only reason I mentioned 
the Wiki page is that the sound on my machine is the same and the PVR-500 
seems to be the worst of the cards for the "instability". My PVR-500 has 
made 2 or 3 really bad recordings where the video was fine but the audio 
drove me crazy. That's something I haven't heard from any 150,250 or 350 
cards.
