I had a system with 2 PCI video cards.  I could run HD on one with no 
problem, or 2 SD.  The system was a frontend only; I suspect it would 
not handle heavy IO on top of that.

It depends on the video card and the mobo.  Some are better than others 
at PCI throughput.
