While I have not idea how to track down the problem, the latest release 
of MiniMyth has been updated to use ALSA 1.0.18 (earlier MiniMyth 
versions used 1.0.17 and older). It is possible that some of the fixes 
in the 1.0.18 drivers fixed the problem you are seeing.
