Quick followup:
I deleted what had been on /mnt/sdb2 and rebooted, which according to
mount caused everything to mounted where it should be:
[root at mythbackend mythlibrary2]# mount
/dev/sda2 on / type ext3 (rw)
proc on /proc type proc (rw)
sysfs on /sys type sysfs (rw)
devpts on /dev/pts type devpts (rw,gid=5,mode=620)
/dev/sda1 on /boot type ext3 (rw)
tmpfs on /dev/shm type tmpfs (rw)
/dev/sda5 on /mythlibrary2 type jfs (rw)
/dev/sdb2 on /mnt/sdb2 type jfs (rw)
/dev/sdc2 on /mnt/sdc2 type jfs (rw)
/mnt/sdb2 on /mythlibrary type none (rw,bind)
none on /proc/sys/fs/binfmt_misc type binfmt_misc (rw)
sunrpc on /var/lib/nfs/rpc_pipefs type rpc_pipefs (rw)
nfsd on /proc/fs/nfsd type nfsd (rw)
[root at mythbackend mythlibrary2]#
So I then launched a recording. I then went to look /mythlibrary and
the new recording (currently running) does not appear. Nor does it
appear in /mythlibrary2. Not does it appear in /mnt/sdb2.
I'm starting to suspect that this is a problem with the binding in
fstab, and maybe that I don't know if I'm doing it correctly.
Here's my fstab again:
LABEL=/1 / ext3 defaults 1 1
#LABEL=/mythlibrary /mythlibrary2 xfs defaults 1 2
LABEL=/boot1 /boot ext3 defaults 1 2
tmpfs /dev/shm tmpfs defaults 0 0
devpts /dev/pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0
sysfs /sys sysfs defaults 0 0
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
LABEL=SWAP-sda3 swap swap defaults 0 0
/dev/sdb1 swap swap defaults 0 0
/dev/cdrom /media/cdrom auto noauto,ro,user 0 0
/dev/sda5 /mythlibrary2 jfs rw 0 0
/dev/sdb2 /mnt/sdb2 jfs rw 0 0
/dev/sdc2 /mnt/sdc2 jfs rw 0 0
/mnt/sdb2 /mythlibrary none rw,bind 0 0
What I'm trying to do is mount /dev/sdb2 as /mnt/sdb2, then use mount
--bind to tie /mnt/sdb2 to /mnt/mythlibrary. I did all the commands
manually, then cat mtab, then entered the values manually into fstab.
But it still seems to be recording to /mnt/sdb2 on / rather than to /dev/dsb2.
Am I screwing up this configuration somehow? Is there a better way to
do it? Do I misunderstand what mount --bind does?
