After seeing your thread, I decided to give it a go last night. I tried
the channel scanner on the transponder mentioned in the dvbforums thread
and it found the channel, but said it wasn't running (maybe off-air) so
didn't add it to my list of channels.

So I used dvbscan to generate a channels.conf file with just ITV HD in it
and tried to import that instead, but when it tried to scan the
transponder MythTv didn't get a lock and so wouldn't add the channels :-(
I fiddled about with the PIDs for a while, but to no avail.

So I tried outside of MythTv using szap to tune the card (this got a lock)
and then a simple cat /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0 > test.mpg resulted in a
non-zero file. I couldn't get this file to play under either vlc (failed
to do anything, which is very unusual for vlc!) or mplayer, which played
some audio, but no video.

Switched over to Windows and using the Mplayer-classic mentioned in that
thread on dvbforums I managed to get sound and picture. Just seems to be
running a test loop still at the minute.

So if I could at least get an entry in Myth for the channels then it could
probably be recorded, but playback might be more of a challenge! I've
still got the file, so I might try playing it via Mythvideo tonight using
the internal player and see what it has to say, because if that will play
it then it will be worth perservering with the channel scanner.

Robert.
