I have existing NOVA-T USB Sticks working fine on my existing OpenSuSE
10.3 based backend server.

The existing cards work fine and produce output such as this when the
system boots:

Apr 29 18:17:47 server kernel: usb 4-6: new high speed USB device using
ehci_hcd and address 4
Apr 29 18:17:47 server kernel: usb 4-6: new device found, idVendor=2040,
idProduct=7060
Apr 29 18:17:47 server kernel: usb 4-6: new device strings: Mfr=1,
Product=2, SerialNumber=3
Apr 29 18:17:47 server kernel: usb 4-6: Product: Nova-T Stick
Apr 29 18:17:47 server kernel: usb 4-6: Manufacturer: Hauppauge

Apr 29 18:17:47 server kernel: dvb-usb: found a 'Hauppauge Nova-T Stick'

in warm state.

not supported, can't probe for chips
Apr 29 18:17:48 server kernel: dvb-usb: will pass the complete MPEG2
transport stream to the software demuxer.
Apr 29 18:17:48 server kernel: DVB: registering new adapter (Hauppauge
Nova-T Stick).
Apr 29 18:17:48 server kernel: i2c-adapter i2c-7: SMBus Quick command
not supported, can't probe for chips
Apr 29 18:17:48 server kernel: DVB: registering frontend 2 (DiBcom
7000PC)...
Apr 29 18:17:48 server kernel: MT2060: successfully identified (IF1 = 1220)
Apr 29 18:17:48 server kernel: dvb-usb: Hauppauge Nova-T Stick
successfully initialized and connected.

However, when I plug in a Nova-TD stick, all I get is:

May 10 08:47:01 server kernel: usb 4-6: new high speed USB device using
ehci_hcd and address 5
May 10 08:47:01 server kernel: usb 4-6: new device found, idVendor=2040,
idProduct=9580
May 10 08:47:01 server kernel: usb 4-6: new device strings: Mfr=1,
Product=2, SerialNumber=3
May 10 08:47:01 server kernel: usb 4-6: Product: NovaT 500Stick
May 10 08:47:01 server kernel: usb 4-6: Manufacturer: Hauppauge
May 10 08:47:01 server kernel: usb 4-6: SerialNumber: 4028639788
May 10 08:47:01 server kernel: usb 4-6: configuration #1 chosen from 1
choice
May 10 08:55:43 server kernel: usb 4-6: USB disconnect, address 5

There are numerous posting on the web, some stating that the -TD sticks
work with Linux, some that they stopped working last January, others
this year saying they work fine. The link from the MythTV site for the
-TD card seems to indicate support is there.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

I've explicitly bought this stick so that I can put together a test
bench for Myth 0.21, as my previous upgrade went really badly, so I
reckon I need a full test rig.

Cheers
Gordon
