- With DVI-PC, EDID info from the tv will cause a perfectly working 1360x76=
8
60Hz modeline to be generated, but not a 50Hz equivilent.
- If I disable all EDID information, and manually create a 50Hz 1360x768
modeline, there is no overscan, but internally the picture is getting up an=
d
down scaled. I've tested this using pixel patterns. On top of this, the
framerate is HALVED (evidence for this in a moment).
- The DVI-DTV mode provides no useful EDID, but if I generate a 1280x720
modeline at either 50Hz or 60Hz, the display is fine (with a small amount o=
f
overscan, appropriate for a STB). Obviously there is no 1:1 pixel mapping.
Video is also silky smooth, it's just the repeated up/down scaling I think
is causing the picture to be a little blurry.
- While using the 1280x720 at 50Hz modeline, (which provides smooth playback o=
n
the DVI-DTV mode), and switching to the DVI-PC mode, I get a picture with n=
o
overscan, but with the framerate halved. Moving the mouse is like watching =
a
series of screenshots, it's definitely the TV, and not my Myth box

All this is with DVI, I'll try VGA again tonight (can't remember the result=
s
from the last test I did, and not sure if I did test everything).

So with 1280x720 at 50Hz and 60Hz, on DVI-DTV, I get acceptable playback.
1360x768 at 60Hz on DVI-PC also provides excellent quality, but only for 60Hz
video.

Does anyone know of any extra filters for sharpening the video that I can
apply, also deblocking would be nice, because the compression on some of th=
e
channels is getting terrible ?

P.S. I've been fiddling with this TV for around 2 years now, if it were up
to me I'd dump it, but the other members would complain about
money-wasting...

<div>OK, Well I&#39;m actually using&nbsp;a DVI port of the TV (not HDMI). =
The TV has 2 input &#39;modes&#39; for the DVI port (which is also the VGA =
