the xrandr -s is not a valid option but I did try the -q
output:
Screen 0: minimum 320 x 200, current 1920 x 1080, maximum 1920 x 1080
default connected 1920x1080+0+0 0mm x 0mm
   1920x1080 50.0*
   1280x1024 51.0
   1280x720 52.0
   1024x768 53.0

I also note in the xorg.log:==
(II) Loading extension NV-CONTROL
(**) RandR enabled

I'm not sure what you mean, does Xrandr alter screen size?

thanks
Paul
