the 5200 does support XvMC - it might be capable of HD at 768 - give it a pin.

Yes. Contrary to popular opinion not all NVIDA cards support xvmc playback. 
The 6100 doesn't, the 6150 does. Unfortunately I know of no list that tells 
you ...
