Please pardon me for moving in on your topic.....

I have a similar problem which you might be able to help.

I have a Denon AVR-2807 which I feed the SPDIF output from a Via
MII-6000E mobo running MiniMyth. All works fine except nothing I do
will get the Denon to see the input from the SPDIF as 44.1 KHz when
feeding it from a CD player or a ripped CD file. It always says it's 48
KHz. I've tried the sample rate parameter for the snd_via82xx module,
and after I saw this note I tried the iecset program. Both work fine
and give no error. But the SPDIF output is still read by the AVR as 48 KHz.

The AVR obviously could be correct and the Via mobo just sucks so bad it
won't _do_ 44.1 KHz. Or perhaps there is something else you might
suggest. All suggestions, comments, etc. are welcome.

Thanks for your help.

Joe Henley
