Add an over-ride (or adjust the schedule permanently) for one of the
programs and go to Scheduling Options. There you can adjust the "Start
recording on time" or "End recording on time" entries. For example if you'd
rather miss the first two minutes go into the second program and tell it to
start 2 minutes late or if you would rather miss the last two minutes go
into the first program and tell it to end 2 minutes early. You could even
split the difference with 1 minute early/1 minute late.

The US has been doing this for a while now, first noticed it with ER some
years back.
