The best way to find out what is in clear qam in your neighbourhood is to find 
a neighbour with an integrated tuner in their hdtv set.  Scan away and look 
for all the channels of the form xxx.yy  These subchannels are the qam 
channels.  If you can see them, they are in the clear.
