Hello, I have a question that has been on my mind lately.
Why do we need to setup playback settings such as deinterlacer, gui/playback
size, and whatnot.
I've never seen a set top box of any kind have to setup playback size or gui
size. Yet, i know you do it in myth cause it helps...it helps a lot on my
mythbox to manually set the gui size because my nvidia 7300lt overscans way
over my tv. I chose Yadif 2x deinterlacer cause the picture playback quality
is WAY better than standard, or the other options...
But the point of my question, is why is this necessary...like why doesn't it
just work like all other devices do?
In Windows, i can plug in my svideo cable from my laptop into my tv and the
picture is perfect. I can do playback of videos and what not, and the screen
matches the tv, no over or under scan, no deinterlacing settings
required...so why is linux/myth different?
