[mythtv-users] Option for best audio (with surround) with this motherboard

Howdy all,

I've been re-doing my primary backend system to
now also be a frontend as it is the most powerful computer
in my myth arsenal.

It is an Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5600+ with an Asus
Crosshair motherboard and 6Gb of ram.

The motherboard manual says it has:
High Definition Audio
SupremeFX Audio Card
featuring ADI 1988B 8-channel High Definition Audio CODEC
Support Jack-Sensing, Enumeration, Multi-stream and Jack-Retasking
8 channel audio ports
Coaxial, Optical S/PDIF out on back of I/O port
ASUS Array Mic
Noise Filter

What are my best options for getting surround sound output?
There are a host of audio connectors on the back. Should
I pick optical, coax, or try to run 4 different output wires
to the receiver?

The manual shows taht I can do 2, 4, 6 or 8 channel, but it is
still unclear to me the best route to take to connect to the
receiver for surround sound.

thanks,

Scott
