[mythtv-users] suddenly can't connect to database

this morning all of a sudden it says I can't connect to the database mythconverg. mythtv is running and I even tried restarting it. any suggestions? I have a master backend/frontend. I run 20.2 with ubuntu feisty. the only upgraded i've done from yesterday and today were langauges packs because the update-notifier informed me of them. any help would be appreciated.
