Viewing interlaced content on an interlaced display often requires
deinterlacing, too (but I don't feel like going into a list of reasons why).
But really, is it so hard to change a drop-down box to find out that,
perhaps, this person who is offering you really good advice may actually
know what he's talking about. I know, I know. You're too smart to be
fooled into trying something that you're absolutely certain will not fix
the problem.***

***Note, this sentiment is not specifically because of this post, but
from reading a bunch of, "My system is perfectly configured and super
powerful, but 0.21 is so slow that it can't even play back my circa-1993
MPEG-1 video," and various other posts where people are completely
ignoring the useful (and often correct) advice they're being given.
This just happened to be the last post in the folder, so it's the one I
clicked on.
