   Sure. More options are good. We're AltOS people here afterall.

   OTOH, I am sure that those of us here (like me) who have bought Mac
hardware would not have done so if it didn't make sense from a cost
perspective. I don't see the minis as something that implies "paying 
for the option" of running MacOS. 

   The MacPros are another matter though...

   Minis aren't "sold for a lot of money". They are price competetive
with similarly equipped low profile systems. It's a mind warping reality
but it's true.

   A cheap ugly single core bargain bin Compaq while certainly quiet 
enough, doesn't come with a DVI or svideo port and won't fit into my 
the A/V credenza that the TV sits on.
