I've never seen the "Play created DVD" option -- perhaps it's a new one or is
buried somewhere I've never noticed on my menus. (I'm running MythTV 0.20.2
as delivered with Ubuntu.) To play a created DVD, I've simply created a
symbolic link from my videos directory to the mythburn.iso file that
MythArchive creates; that lets me run the image from the videos directory.
This works quite well for me.

Is burning another copy another new option? I've not seen it on my system.

Personally, I never burn directly to DVD. I run into problems frequently
enough that I'd ruin a lot of blanks if I burned directly. Instead, I create
an image file and then burn that AFTER I check it out.
