The rattling is normal its the tilt sensor for the backlight

Q: My remote rattles when I shake it, is this normal?
A: This is normal. The rattle that you hear when you move the remote
around is the tilt sensor.

I love mine (works great with myth and the MCE sensor). I have had 2
Harmony remotes and my only complaint was my old one used regular AA
batteries and it would eat them - I had to replace them every couple
of weeks.
