chance.  I tried Knoppmyth (which worked great out of the box) but gave up
after trying to tweak things - it didn't like anything but the stock
installation.  I  then tried Jarod's guide, installed FC5, and haven't
looked back since (other than going FC6, F7, F8).

Now my home network is a hodge-podge of Windows (both dedicated and as VM
machines on Linux), OSX and Linux.  They all have strengths and weaknesses
(Linux really doesn't have a good video editing program for example) and I'm
not religious about any of them - best tool for the job really.
