moment would be covered by "fair use" in most countries - as soon as it has functionality 
(from the off) to share recordings, this stops being as clear cut.

If the people in charge of the list (or the development) have stated that they do not want 
to open that can of worms, we should respect that.  There's nothing to stop people forking 
off a version of the app that includes p2p functionality - indeed, it could be handled a bit 
like the non-OpenBSD 'ports' of openssh.

If it helps - ignore the reasons for/against.  If you've seen the Del'monte commercials - 
it's sorta inverted.  "The man from MythTV, he say 'non'".
