[mythtv-users] Frustrating popping on a single channel on /dev/video1 of PVR-500

Hi, I have a hauppage PVR-500 that has worked stellar, until a month or so
ago. At that time I changed almost all the hardware in my backend
(motherboard, CPU, etc). All I kept from the old backend was network card,
hard drives, and my tuner card. I also switched from Mythdora4 to
Mythbuntu8.04.

Now, on the second tuner of my card I get an annoying popping of the
audio/video every so often (completely random AFAIK). It doesn't happen on
the first tuner of the PVR500, so I don't think it's coming from my service
provider. I sure hope it's not hardware damage...

The popping looks like something on the MPEG2 encoding is amiss. You can
see a screenshot of one of the pops here:

Any ideas as to what it could be to fix it? It only happens on one channel,
and only happens on one of the two tuners. It's driving me crazy. I've
been playing around in mythtv-setup looking for ideas, but I'm stumped.

Brian

My PVR 500 is the kind with the "good" tuners. I understand that there were
some PVR500's shipped with tuners that were sensitive to the signal levels
coming down the coax, but mine hasn't had this popping problem until
recently, and I've been using it for almost a year now.
