[mythtv-users] If I get the digest, how do I reply correctly?

The Mailman software mythtv.org uses for mailing lists, as well as
most other traditional Unix-based digest-capable mailing-list
applications, do properly include message IDs in individual messages
within digests. Yahoo! Groups and Google Groups' digests do *not*,
unfortunately, conform to the existing RFC standards for mail digests
and therefore cannot be burst properly by anything.
Now, if you mean that your mail reader can't burst digests properly,
that's a different story. I've been using VM on Emacs--which makes
this a snap--for 13 years, so I can't speak for those using inferior
tools.
