Thanks for the reply.

I'm guessng making a UHF cable wrong means having the outer wire 
touching the inner core (co-axial). I will check this but I'm sure it's 
right.

I need to determine if the problem stems from the antenna or something 
else. This is why I mentioned the signal being at 61% which seems high 
to me.
