I've got my Harmony 880 set up to emulate an older Panny DVD player's remote. I chose it as I found a decent picture of one on eBay (so I could compare the actual button labels) and there was a complete lirc.conf in the LIRC database. Details are:

# this config file was automatically generated
# using lirc-0.6.1 on Sat Sep 2 23:49:54 2000
#
# contributed by xercist
#
# brand: Panasonic
# model: VEQ2249

My lircrc file is attached. (NB, the "I" and "U" commands are not working right at this point. Haven't spent the time to figure out why.)
