[mythtv-users] lirc on a time delay

I know this has been done before because I remember reading about it.
Now I just can't find any trace of it.

Here is what I'm talking about....I'm looking for a way to send out a
lirc ir signal with my usb-uirt to shut off my audio receiver and Tv
after a period of inactivity.

One thing besides that would be a pop-up notification giving m like 30
seconds to cancel the upcoming script.

Can someone tell me where I can find info on setting this up?
