Hmm, apparently the others weren't clear enough on this earlier.

Your receiver does NOT expect 5V, it's just able to /handle/ 5V signals. 
In other words it "expects"  S/PDIF levels, i.e. ~-.5 to +.5, but will
work with 0 to 5V (i.e. TTL) levels.

If it works, you're fine, don't change anything.
